Plastic forks, spoons, and knives are pesky little things. Most people don't know how to recycle them properly and they're small, so they often fall through the cracks and end up in the trash. Eventually, all that plastic starts to accumulate and winds up polluting our oceans and harming wildlife. But Narayana Peesapaty knows how to fix it.

Peesapaty wants people to stop throwing away their plastic cutlery. In fact, he has a better idea: why not eat it instead? His invention is called Bakeys, and it's a line of edible cutlery made from millet, rice, and wheat flours. He currently makes spoons, sporks, and chopsticks that come in various flavors. The cutlery lasts about three years and although they're edible, they'll still decompose in an environmentally friendly way if their users decide not to eat them.

Why use plastic forks and spoons made of harmful plastics when you can just eat your cutlery and know that it won't end up in an ocean somewhere?
