Pipe leaks can result in property damage, a waste of resources and pretty hefty bills for homeowners. However, these leaks can go weeks unnoticed. In comes Wally, a smart device that connects to your water system to alert you when there's a leak that needs to be fixed.
According to Springwise, Wally has up to six sensors that can be placed all over the home, with a central hub that receives information via a wifi network. Ideal placements for the sensors would be under the sink, in the laundry room and in the garage.
Wally works by monitoring moisture, room temperature and humidity to detect if a pipe has sprung a leak. It then sends real-time alerts to the homeowners' devices, allowing them to take action immediately. Wally also learns about the home's patterns to ensure it doesn't send alerts when, for example, someone is in the shower.
The WallyHome kit is available for $299. The kit includes six sensors, but packages can also be customized to fit the needs of your home.
