IBM has been developing Watson for a number of professional applications, including medical diagnosis and customer service. Now Watson will play another support role, helping military members transition to civilian life.

IBM has partnered with financial services provider USAA for a new use of its online tool "Ask Watson." Using the USAA website, members can enter questions in a wide variety of areas, from resume writing to the nuances of the G.I. Bill.

"USAA's innovative application is a prime example of how Watson's cognitive intellect has the potential to empower individuals and organizations," said Mike Rhodin, the senior vice president of IBM Watson group. "We believe this new service can help men and women who served their country gain timely and relevant insights into the steps they need to successfully move to civilian life."
