One plastic surgeon is doing incredible things.

Vice ran an incredible story last week that's worth checking out. It follows Fiona Wood, a woman who invented a new kind of treatment for severe burns -- spray-on skin.

"I was looking at the scarring and the devastation in people's lives and thinking, Could I actually change that? Could I change that person's life trajectory?"

Many burn victims usually have to wait for skin grafts to cover their wounds, but cultivating enough skin took time and could increase the patient's infection risk. Wood's idea was to grow the new skin on the patient by spraying it on directly. The spray became known as ReCell.

The technology has been implemented widely and successfully. It has the potential to not only help those with minor and major burns but also those who sustain burns from bombings and other acts of war.
